My approach
My approach integrates various therapeutic techniques and adapts to the client’s particular needs.
Mostly, however, my thinking has a psychodynamic and attachment-based theoretical underpinning, which means that the relationship between client, therapist and image is central to understanding what the client is bringing to therapy.
I have a deep respect for the creative process and its ability to shed light on the most relevant aspects of a client’s therapeutic exploration.
I see my role as that of being enabling, reflective and containing, acknowledging that each person brings a unique story, which they themselves are best placed to influence and change.
I aim to provide a safe, empathic and confidential space, in which the client has the freedom to work at their own pace, without judgement, pressure, or expectations.

Throughout my career as an art psychotherapist, I have continued to develop and nurture my artist identity and practice. I have been a life drawing tutor for over 15 years and dedicate time to painting, drawing and making.
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development and regularly attend training.
